Free Care Fund Gifts

The Free Care Fund raises more than $6 million annually to provide medical or rehabilitative services for patients who could not afford to pay for it themselves. Your generous gift helps us continue this tradition of caring for all. Tax deductible donations to our Free Care Fund can be made at any time!

Gifts of $100 or more will be recognized in St. Barnabas Charities’ quarterly publication, Faith & Work.

Honor and Memorial Gifts

Many donors choose to honor someone living or to memorialize a loved one who has passed with a gift to St. Barnabas Charities. Simply select the “In Memory of” or “In Honor of” choices on our Online or Mail in giving form, and include the name of the person you wish to remember.

Gifts-in-Kind

You may have an item of value that you would like to donate to St. Barnabas—an automobile, a piano, a valuable work of art or other collectible.

Matching Gifts

Many employers generously offer to match employee gifts to qualifying charities. This is a great way to double the impact of your gift to St. Barnabas Charities. Contact your company’s human resources or personnel department and, when applicable, ask for a corporate matching gift form to include with your gift.

Combined Federal Campaign

St. Barnabas Charities is honored to be a part of the annual CFC campaign that includes federal government, postal and military donors. Pledges made during the campaign season (September 1st to December 15th) support eligible non-profit organizations that provide health and human service benefits throughout the world. Please visit www.3riverscfc.org and use our 5 digit code 68441 when making your contribution or pledge. We are grateful for your support.

Planned Giving

Many donors elect to make a legacy contribution to St. Barnabas Charities through their estate. Planned Giving includes bequests, charitable gift annuities, gifts of insurance, IRA gifts, trusts, and more. Each gift offers a tax benefit and some also provide a protected stream of income for the donor.

Bequests

Estate planning is important regardless of the size of your estate. Proper planning will help preserve your assets, assure that you will achieve your personal objectives, and provide security for your loved ones.

If you are grateful for the care you or your family member has received, if you have enjoyed the comfort and surroundings as a resident, or if you believe in our Christian mission of caring, including St. Barnabas in your will may be the best expression of gratitude. The generosity of thoughtful benefactors who have included St. Barnabas Charities in their estate plans has been vital to the successful continuation of our mission.

Your will is the cornerstone of your estate planning efforts and your most important legal document. If you would like to add a future gift to St. Barnabas Charities as a codicil to your will, please call to arrange a confidential discussion. Please do consult with your attorney to assure your will is prepared with provisions that will meet your specific personal needs and wishes.

IRA Gifts

By naming St. Barnabas Charities as the beneficiary of a retirement plan, donors can avoid the double taxation on IRAs and other employee benefit plans.

Life Insurance Gift

Contribute a life insurance policy and name St. Barnabas Charities as the beneficiary. This gift will provide a current income tax deduction and possible future deductions through gifts to pay policy premiums. Simpler still, simply name St. Barnabas Charities as the beneficiary of your existing policy.

Hance Legacy Society

The Hance Legacy Society honors St. Barnabas’ founder and the many generous donors who have made St. Barnabas Charities part of their legacy through a planned gift. Since 1900, St. Barnabas has been blessed with many benefactors who have shared Brother Hance’s vision and helped advance St. Barnabas’ mission:

Just as the love of Christ urged Brother Gouverneur P. Hance to devote himself to the service of the poor, it impels us to continue service to those in need and to take appropriate actions to assure the continuing viability of our mission through a strong commitment to our programs and associated services.

To become a member, simply notify St. Barnabas Charities regarding the nature of your intentions. You might also choose to share with us a copy of the specific section or codicil of the document that references St. Barnabas. If you wish to remain an anonymous member, just notify us that is your intent.
