Congratulations to the more than 900 race participants – it was a great morning to run for free care! Returning to take first place overall was Jed Christiansen of Greenville with a time of 14:54. Breaking the course record for the women was Aubrey Moskal of Morgantown, WV, with a winning time of 16:26.

5K Run/Walk 2014 Overall Winners
The second place overall male finisher was Evan Gomez, 21, of Pittsburgh. His time was 15:33. Third place was Daniel Spaulding, 27, of Valancia, with a time of 15:36. The second place overall female finisher was Elaina Balouris, 22, of Allison Park with a time of 16:40. The third place overall female finisher was Lisa Lucas, 48, of Pittsburgh with a time of 18:47. All received awards for their accomplishments.
TEAMS were composed of at least five members with the top three runners’ totals going toward the team total. The top three teams were:
1. Team Smocer – Michael 18:55, Makara 21:42, Marin 25:45
2. Olsh Dream Team – Maria 23:08, Monica 23:39, Anna 24:09
3. Rishel Clan – Ben 24:47, David 24:49, Katie 25:53
A new PATRIOT category was added this year to recognize United States military, veterans and first responders, the top three men were:
1. Antonio Gomez 24:24
2. John Antinossi 25:08
3. James Cunningham 26:17
Ninety-six more medals were given to the top three winners in the 16 age categories in the men’s and women’s divisions. Plus Master and Grandmaster divisions, the winners for each category can be viewed here.

Each year, fitness enthusiasts trek up and down Meridian Road and raise money for the St. Barnabas Free Care Fund, an effort that enables nursing and living assistance patients to receive more than $6 million in charity care each year.
Proceeds benefit the St. Barnabas Free Care Fund.
Competitive and amateur runners, joggers, walkers, teams of 3-5, strollers and wheelchair racing participants of all ages. No inline skates or pets. No smoking.

Awards Ceremony and Post-Race Party 10 a.m. at the St. Barnabas Medical Center lawn and stage. Emceed by WPXI-TV’s Trisha Pittman and KDKA Radio’s Larry Richert. Refreshments and beverages free to all registrants! Music and dozens of prizes in post-race drawing.
