Job Title:Food Service Assistant
Unit Manager, Supervisor, Cook
Duties to be performed shall include but not be limited to the following: serve prepared food during food service to resident dining room, work staff dining room, stocking of satellite kitchens, bussing and washing of dishes.
Duties also include setting up of trays and dining room tables and cleaning of all work areas assigned by Supervisor, Unit Manager, or Cook (according to the posted daily cleaning schedule).
Assistant also will record breakfast, lunch and dinner food temperatures as well as dish machine wash and rinse temperatures.
FSA will also perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor, Unit Manager or Cook.
Must be able to stand for long periods and walk short distances throughout the workday. Must be able stoop, kneel depending on the job, be able to reach and lift kitchen equipment. May need to work in awkward positions.
Must be able to push / transport food warmers or food racks that range 75 to 95 pounds. Must be able to lift up to 85 lbs.
Ability to read, write, make simple calculations and follow oral or written directions.
Training & Experience:
Previous food service experience or background helpful. On-the-job training will be provided.
Must comply with uniform standards as set for department. Hair must be clean and tidy; hairnet or approved hat should be worn at all times in food service areas. Shoes worn should be skid resistant comfortable and allow ease in walking and standing. Jewelry should not be worn to prevent contamination and employee injury.
Works in a clean, well-lighted, well-ventilated kitchen. Work area is often hot due to dish machine and the use of hot water.
