What Is Lights of Life?

Lights of Life is an annual charity event at the St. Barnabas Gibsonia campus in Richland Township. At this event, donations can be made in honor or memory of a loved one, helping to light up one of 15,000 multi-colored Christmas lights that illuminate the largest living Christmas tree east of the Mississippi River. This evergreen is at St. Barnabas Nursing Home every November and December. Each donation for your loved one goes toward the St. Barnabas Free Care Fund. The tributes are inscribed in a book that is displayed in the St. Barnabas Nursing Home Chapel to memorialize your loved one. If your family member or friend was a patient or resident of St. Barnabas, a donation towards the Lights of Life can be a wonderful way to honor their memory while raising money for the place that has helped them and many others.

Support St. Barnabas Free Care Fund

St. Barnabas Free Care Fund raises money to provide free services to patients and residents at St. Barnabas Nursing Home, The Arbors in Gibsonia, Valencia, and Beaver Meadows, who otherwise could not afford care. We are proud to fundraise over $6 million towards free services every year and over $135 million since 1967, providing financial assistance that can improve the health and wellbeing of elderly people in Allegheny, Beaver, and Butler counties. St. Barnabas Free Care Fund helps cover the costs of continuing coverage of care, in line with our continuum of care philosophy, so residents never have to worry that they will be forced to leave their living assistance or retirement community due to payment issues.

The success of our fund is only possible through donations from our community at our
annual fundraising events and businesses. St. Barnabas is continuously looking for volunteers for charity events, staffing our establishments, and interacting with residents. If you’re unable to donate but want to support us in another way, volunteering is a great option.
