Kean Quest History
View last year’s competition Kean Quest 2014.
Kean Quest began from a small talent show organized in 2003 by the late Greg Maggio of North Park Clubhouse as a fund-raiser for St. Barnabas. After two years, the talent show grew into a contest that would be known as Kean Idol. With continued growth and a wide audience the event had a name change in 2012 to Kean Quest Talent Search. Nearly 1,400 adults and children have been on stage at the beautiful Kean Theatre as part of this fund-raising event.
Past contestants have used the competition as a stepping stone and have made great accomplishments; some studied abroad, others recorded in Nashville and some have followed their dreams to Los Angeles. Chris Jamison sang to millions on the “The Voice.” Jackie Evancho, who was a Kean Idol finalist in 2008 and 2009, won the hearts of millions when she was the first runner-up on “America’s Got Talent.” Miss Evancho has gone on to receive many recording awards and achieve world-wide fame.
